Secretary Nellie Gorbea

Secretary of State Nellie Gorbea last week announced a partnership with a Pawtucket-based company to build a new Central Voter Registration System (CVRS). The state’s current CVRS–a computer database that houses the state’s list of registered voters and acts as Rhode Island’s election management system–was designed in 2005.

According to Gorbea, a new CVRS will help maintain the state’s “national model in election security.”
