The body of a suspect involved in a fatal shooting incident was found in Charlestown Sunday night, after local and state police forces had closed off roads in town to conduct an extensive search of the area.

Thirty-two-year-old Steven Fregolle of Johnston, Rhode Island was a suspect in the fatal shooting of 37-year-old Brandi Berg of Riverside, Rhode Island. The shooting took place in North Attleboro on Saturday night June, 22 at the Fashion Crossing Plaza on Route 1 around 6 p.m. Berg was found by police officers wounded and unresponsive, inside her car. She was pronounced dead at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence later that night.

Fregolle’s body was found in the woods of the Francis C. Carter Memorial Preserve by a Narragansett Police K-9 Officer and his dog drawing the search to a close. Police believe he died by suicide.
