EG girls tennis on to D-II final; SK falls in semis to Smithfield

Victoria Gu and the Rebels' girls tennis team fell to Smithfield 4-0 in Thursday's semifinal.

The Division II girls tennis final is set.
East Greenwich had no trouble mov

Aleksandra Drljaca won at No. 1 singles as did Stephanie Huang at No. 3 and Edie Golden at No. 4 singles. East Greenwich closed out the match with a win at No. 1 doubles.

The Avengers will meet Smithfield, which beat South Kingstown 4-0. The Rebels lost at No. 1 and 3 singles and Nos. 1 and 2 doubles, but had the match played out, it looked like it was heading to 4-3 because No. 2 Chloe Cullen and No. 4 Cassie Collinson had both picked up momentum with strong second sets.

East Greenwich plays Smithfield Saturday at 10 a.m. at Slater Park in Pawtucket.
