LINCOLN — With close to 20 minutes left in the match on Monday night at Chet Nichols Field, a few rain drops began to fall and a couple of “uh ohs” were uttered by a few soccer players from both the Chariho and Lincoln girls squads.
But the deluge on the scoreboard occurred very early in the match and the Chargers’ mindset of hoping to start anew and get back on the winning track was flooded with the thoughts of “here we go again.”
It was another difficult night on the pitch for the injury-riddled Chariho squad with Lincoln, which is one of the perennial threats in the upcoming Division II playoffs, handing the Chargers their ninth loss in the last 10 matches in dominating fashion, 7-0.
