COVENTRY — There was a good representation of candidates running for various seats such as the school committee, town council and state representative at the Meet the Candidates Night held at the Westwood Estates clubhouse Monday.
Voters had the opportunity to ask questions and get to know those seeking election in November in the relaxed atmosphere while they enjoyed refreshments.
Candidate running for her second term for town council, Karen Carlson said she chose to run again because she feels her job is not done
“We still have yet to get Central Coventry Fire District settled,” said the District 1 candidate. “I live in Western but what happens in Central will have an effect on my fire district. We have 10 proposed wind turbines and green energy would be a plus conserving our open space is very important. I’d like to get more business opportunities in town to attract people here to keep our economy strong and our taxes reasonable.”
