KINGSTON – This past June nine URI students traveled to Africa to visit the Maasai Joy Pre & Primary English Medium School in Tanzania. The students, many of whom were education majors, included Ryan Kluk and Benjamin Upham, Narragansett residents, as well as Allyson Tabaczynski, Madison Gagnon, Karla Alba, Jamie Pratt, Stephanie Duncan, and Erica Dubis. URI Kinesiology Professor Karie Orendorff, who has hosted the trip this year for the second in a row, accompanied the students on the journey.
Orendorff started the trip two years ago to get some of the students involved in the world on a global level and to see the world beyond their local perspective.
