NARRAGANSETT — It wasn’t Chariho’s day at the Point Judith Country Club golf course on Tuesday. The Chargers went into the rescheduled double dual with Coventry and Narragansett with some black clouds looming overhead, both literal and figurative. Not only was there a little rain to accompany some rather strong winds, but the Chariho golf team was forced to play despite the absence of a key member, their number two player.
Senior Sam Martel, ranked second for the Chargers, sustained a knee injury worthy of a hospital visit earlier that afternoon and was unable to play as they had planned. In for Martel with little warning was freshman Jake Berube who played sixth for the team on Tuesday.
