NARRAGANSETT – The town council is looking to further trim the proposed budget for fiscal year 2015 in an effort to reduce the expected 4 percent property tax increase.
The council is looking cut even more funding for capital projects, which took drastic cuts before the proposed budget even reached the council.
“Where else are we going to find the money,” said Council President Pro Tem Susan Cicilline-Buonanno. “We have to fund the ARC to 80 percent and keep the tax rate reasonable. What can we defer on capital for this budget cycle and see where we are for the next cycle?”
