SOUTH KINGSTOWN – An unexpected vote of disapproval and subsequent departure by Councilor Jim O’Neill at the meeting on Monday night left the rest of the town council and the public in a state of confusion.
The vote was regarding the re-appointment of Igor Runge to the zoning board for a term that would last until March 2017.
When the motion was made and it came time to vote, everyone but O’Neill cast an approving vote. O’Neill voted against the motion and then proceeded to put on his coat and walk away from the meeting, saying, “I’m out of here.”
