COVENTRY — Robert Thibeault’s got some years of experience serving the town and 15 years of professional financial experience, which made him the perfect fit for the Coventry Finance Director.
Thibeault has been a resident of Coventry for 20 years and has served on the town council in 2006, the sewer sub commission and most recently the planning board.
“After being employed at the University of Rhode Island for the past seven years, this is something I’ve worked toward because I wanted to take the next step and new challenges,” he said.
Thibeault’s first day was November 12 and said because he already knew those in the town hall, personnel in the DPW, school administration and other staff, the transition has been so much easier.
“It’s been very advantageous,” said the new finance director. “It’s been a great fit because I’ve already grown a rapport with people in the community from serving on the council and other boards and committees and now, being in this position, it offers me an opportunity to see the big picture and see how things are all working together.”
