NORTH KINGSTOWN—U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan announced the 2013 selections of 2013 National Blue Ribbon Schools, of which Stony Lane Elementary School in North Kingstown can be counted. The elementary school is one of 286 nationwide who have been chosen based on its dedication to academic excellence and improving student achievement.
“Some of the best news an elementary school can receive in the country is to be rewarded a blue ribbon, and that has happened,” said North Kingstown Superintendent of Schools Philip Auger. “We are very proud of Principal Edward Ferrario and his staff.”
“They are doing great work over there,” he added.
