WEST WARWICK— After four days of having to boil water throughout the Kent County area, the advisory has been rescinded by the Kent County Water Authority (KCWA) and the R.I. Department of Health.
The KCWA tested samples of the storage tank in West Warwick, where the contamination originated, and it came back negative for three consecutive days.
According to a release issued by the KCWA, they “will continue testing protocols as before to assure our consumers that we are properly monitoring our system to comply with the Rules & Regulations of the Department of Health and EPA.”
HEALTH officials stated that an investigation is still underway to determine why the initial test done revealed the bacteria. The storage tank in West Warwick will remain off-line while this continues.
