Local artists, both novice and advanced, grabbed their spray cans and masks and took to the walls in the area known as ‘The Luge’ along London Street and Duke Street on Saturday for the annual East Greenwich Graffiti Contest.
With a few movements of the wrists, artists splashed an array of colors and created unique designs showing figures and wrote messages offering hope. The top artists in the ‘Kids’ division were Delilah King (first place), Alex Mandes (second place), Kalyn Foster (third place) and Gabriella Rougier (honorable mention). In the ‘Older’ division, the top artsts were Nicholas Rougier (first place), Jay West (second place), Sabrina King and Delaney Harris (third place) and D.J. Biber (honorable mention).
