COVENTRY – Assistant Principal Arthur Lisi has been moved to the head of the class at The Alan Shawn Feinstein Middle School.
After completing the interview process two weeks ago to fill Principal Jennifer Roy’s position, Lisi is very excited to keep up the great work being done in the middle school.
Roy will take the assistant principal position, still at the middle school.
“I started as an educator in this district 25 years ago and I love it still,” Lisi said. “It’s forward thinking, innovative and always looking for better ways to support students.”
He credited the staff at Feinstein and described the educational setting about being collaborative — no one does anything alone.
During his 25 years in education Lisi has been a guidance curriculum coordinator at Coventry High School, an adjunct professor at Providence College of Continuing Education, a guidance counselor at Feinstein, sixth-grade teacher at Blackrock Elementary School and has also served as a Special Assistant and Congressional Aide to Office of former United States Rep. Claudine Schneider.
Lisi explained that one of the most important initiatives he and the administration are working on is using NECAP results, various screening processes and teacher recommendations to identify the students most in need of assistance.
“We’re tracking what we can do better with learning and identifying the best ways to help a student,” said the principal.
