COVENTRY – BankRI celebrated its official return to Coventry with a special ribbon cutting ceremony to commemorate the opening of its 18th location.
“For years BankRI has had a presence in Coventry and is eager to return and once again offer the community a full-service branch,” said Steven Parente, senior vice president. “Although we did leave this location for a time, we still have a very loyal base that came back that includes 80 businesses and 400 households.”
Parente said it’s a great mix of customers and with branches in West Warwick and East Greenwich, they’re happy to fill the void.
Parente said the bank’s focus is on offering customers a more personal banking experience and stepping out into the community to offer support in whatever capacity possible through charitable donations, corporate sponsorship and employee volunteers.
He said the branch opened on December 15 had 90 transactions and it hasn’t stopped since.
Branch Manager Liane Presley lives in Town so she’s thrilled to work with a bank that’s so close to the community and close to home.
“I’m very excited,” she said.
