Locals will, once again, have the opportunity to burn off some calories from Thanksgiving dinner by running for a good cause.
The Main Street Association will hold its Second Annual Turkey Trot 5K Road Race on Saturday, Nov. 24, where more than a few hundred people are expected to walk and run throughout the course within the town.
“It was really successful and the town is on board,” said Michelle Clark, who will be in charge of the event along with fellow member of the Main Street Association, Amy Moore. “We ended up having 500 in the 5K race and then almost 300 in the one-mile fun run (last year). We had about a 1,000 people out there. Everyone really liked it. We have some people showing interest in it by contacting us.
“We are so excited about this year’s race and hope that many people decide to make this event a part of their Thanksgiving family tradition.”
