EAST GREENWICH — With a little help from the United States Tennis Association, the ball is bouncing true again on the town's tennis courts.
The town recently received an $8,500 grant from USTA, good for 20 percent of the nearly $43,000 the town spent to resurface its tennis courts this fall, said Parks and Recreation Director Cathy Bradley.
The work, done in late summer and early fall, improved six municipal courts located behind East Greenwich High School and three behind the department's Frenchtown Road offices, she said. The municipal courts were resurfaced in time for the high school girls' team to play its fall season there.
