EAST GREENWICH — School officials and the union representing support staff have reached a tentative three-year contract agreement with the help of mediation.
The three-year agreement, giving paraprofessionals two-percent annual raises in exchange for increased health care co-payments, will save the school district $51,742 over the life of the contract, Maryann Crawford, director of administration, told the School Committee Tuesday night.
The union’s contract expired last June, and a mediator was called in after the two sides reached an impasse, she said.
