COVENTRY—Saturday morning, the Coventry Police received a report of gunshots fired at a house on Sisson Road.
The incident is believed to have occurred on Friday night at around 6 p.m. after a call was made.
The police responded to the location and, according to a press release from the Coventry Police Department, the area was negative.
The homeowner, James Mattson, told police that when he woke up in the morning he found several bullet holes in the front of the house. He reported that he had not observed anything until that morning since he had been away for the majority of the evening.
A total of 12 bullet holes were found in the front of the house, according to press release.
During investigations, several residents in the area also told police that they heard shots at approximately 6 p.m.
The property on Sisson Road is located in a rural area of Western Coventry. The press release indicated that hunting and reports of shots fired are not unusual, especially during the hunting season.
The Coventry Police Department requests that if anyone has information on the incident, they call 826-1100.
