WOOD RIVER JUNCTION - As a way to present its newly renovated facilities to the public, and the thank the residents of Charlestown, Richmond and Hopkinton for their support, Chariho Regional High School will host its Campus 2010 dedication event on Oct. 15.
The reason that the event is titled after last year is because that is when it was originally scheduled for, according to Chariho Regional School District Supt. Barry Ricci. However, the event will take place in 2011, and Ricci is very exited about the opportunity to show the public what is new at Chariho, and to thank them.
“We want to say to the community, we’ve worked really hard in the last few years, and we want to show them what we’ve done,” said Ricci. “We also want to do it in a way to say thank you.”
Some of the new renovation to the school the new library, new agricultural science center, new track and new outdoor performing arts space.
Ricci said that the new renovations were done to support the infrastructure of the school, and were completed under budget.
He also expressed sincere gratitude toward the Rotary Club of Chariho, who helped renovate the high school courtyard, which is the outdoor performing arts space, thanks to a sizable donation.
