NARRAGANSETT – The Planning Board has voted to continue the discussion of the development of four parcels of land along Boston Neck Road to a special meeting on March 11.
When the board met for it’s monthly meeting on Wednesday night, Feb. 23 the new master plan informational hearing about the development of Narragansett Highlands was the hot ticket item on the agenda. A plan that would put 16 condominiums and a school on four plots of land across from CVS on Boston Neck Road was amended and presented to the Planning Board.
“The plan has been amended a number of times,” said Terence Fleming, the chairman of the Planning Board. “It was four house lots, then it was a certain amount of affordable housing units and market rate units. So much has happened with this, it really has changed a lot from the original plan.”
Engineers and architects associated with the effort were on hand Wednesday night to present the amended plans. The design starts at Park Ave., which comes off of Boston Neck across from the CVS near Bonnet shores and turns into a cul-de-sac. To the left, on the southerly two lots, would be 16 condominium units, have of which would be affordable housing and the other half market value. On the northerly two lots, set slightly further back, would be Quest Montessori School, a private school currently housed in North Kingstown.
