CHARLESTOWN – The idea of “going green” is one that continues to gain traction throughout the country and the entire world, especially as we watch our gasoline and heating prices rise and rise.
Plenty of us are doing what we can to cut back. We're driving less, lowering the thermostat, throwing on extra layers, unplugging phone and battery charges, and whatever else we can do to lower our bills and, hopefully, attempt to lessen the impact on our environment.
But there are two parties who are taking this one step further. Property owners Pat and Fritz Vohr along with builder Dave Caldwell, of Caldwell & Johnson, and broker Erin Diaz, of Beaches & Backroads Realty, have teamed up to create a development in the village of Carolina that strives to be 100 percent green.
Their vision began to officially come together in September 2010, when their first home on the 40-acre lot began being constructed. And as of this week, the work on the interior has nearly finished.
