WPWA holds solstice paddle

June 16, 2011

HOPE VALLEY -- On June 21, the Wood-Pawcatuck Watershed Association will hold a members-only solstice paddle from 6 to 8 p.m.

This special event is for our WPWA members to enjoy a summer evening paddle on the beautiful Wood River. By taking advantage of the longest day of the year we'll have plenty of time to watch dragonflies and tree swallows, identify blooming flowers, and maybe spot some of the other interesting inhabitants of this amazing ecosystem.

This easy paddle leaves from, and returns to, the WPWA Campus. No fee -participants must be a WPWA member.Bring your own boat or use one of WPWA's nine-foot single person kayaks.

The Wood-Pawcatuck Watershed Association is located at 203 Arcadia Road in Hope Valley.
