Wind proposal to go through zoning, planning

November 8, 2010

CHARLESTOWN -- The Whalerock wind power project, which was proposed to be a partnership with the town, looks like it could be moving in another direction.

Nicholas Gorham, the attorney for Whalerock and LL Properties LLC, wrote a letter to the Town Council indicating that his clients have opted to withdraw their agreement for a proposed partnership with the town. Instead, the letter states that they would like to bring the project to the zoning and planning boards.

For more information on this, you can view the agenda for tonight's council meeting at the Charlestown website. Or you can attend the meeting at 7 p.m. in the council chambers at Town Hall.
