A free emergency preparedness seminar entitled âHope For The Best, Prepare For The Worst: How you and your congregation can prepare for hurricanes and tornadoesâ will be held at Westminster Unitarian Church, 119 Kenyon Avenue, East Greenwich, on Saturday, July 27, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Members of different congregational leaderships, green sanctuary committees, caring circles and social justice committees are urged to attend to learn and bring home specific ideas in order to weather the New England storm season.
The guest speakers who are expected to attend on July 27 have all worked extensively with disaster relief locally and across the country.
Refreshments will be provided and the event is free and open to the public, although donations will be gratefully received to help defray the cost of food. This program is sponsored jointly by the Green Sanctuary committee of Westminster Unitarian Church and the Ballou-Channing District of the UUA. The Westminster parish house is air conditioned and easily accessible for people with disabilities.
For more information about or to register for the July 27 event, please see the Westminster Unitarian Church web site (www.westminsteruu.org) or call the church office at 401-884-5933.
