WEST WARWICK — One West Warwick teen knows how to balance her favorite sport — gymnastics — with school and life and she does it without a flinch.

Sophomore Taylor Worthington gets straight A’s in school, gets involved with school activities and is also an all-around 2014 Level 10 state champion; in her 12 years of being a gymnast, she is also a five-time all-around Rhode Island State Champion. Her events include vault and balance beam.

Worthington has been participating in gymnastics since she could walk and as the years have passed, she took her lessons and training to heart and has become one of the best.

“I love the sport because I love competing and I love the feeling of knowing I’m accomplishing something,” she said. “It’s taught me to believe in myself, never doubt myself, time management and teamwork.”

She enjoys competing on the balance beam because that’s an apparatus she was able to master thanks to her brief time as taking dance as well.
