Weather outside not so frightful for SK, Narragansett

NARRAGANSETT—The Blizzard of 2010 has come and gone and while some parts of Southern New England are still struggling to dig their way out of this past weekend’s storm that left anywhere from one to two feet of snow on the ground, the towns of South Kingstown and Narragansett are doing just fine.

In fact, considering the amount of snowfall, the length of the storm and the overall difficulty—what with wind gusts making plowing conditions less than ideal—it’s safe to say the towns earned more than just a passing grade in this the first official storm of the winter season.

“I give my guys and staff an A+ job,” Michael DiCicco, Superintendent of Operations for Public Works for the town of Narragansett said Thursday. “My fleet shop had resources to get the trucks back out on the road and we went out on the road with 21 trucks and we finished the storm with 21 trucks so I was really proud of the guys, they did a good job.”
