Warwick man gets 30 years for shooting

WEST WARWICK — A man accused of killing a West Warwick man on New Year’s Eve was sentenced in court Wednesday.

J’Klah Thomas of Warwick was sentenced to 30 years in prison with 16 to serve on one count of manslaugther.

He was also given 10 years to serve for illegal firearm charges.

On the afternoon of New Year’s Eve, police were called to Industrial Lane in West Warwick for reports of gunshots.

Upon arrival they found Brandon Anderson, 22, of 65 Industrial Lane with a gunshot wound to his head. He was transported to Kent County Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Thomas was arrested more than a week later and held without bail as a violator.
