SOUTH KINGSTOWN – The South Kingstown girls volleyball team isn’t satisfied with being ordinary. The Rebels are too talented a team to not be discussed among the state’s elite. But right now, something is missing. There’s a significant difference between good and great. After being swept by North Kingstown Tuesday night, South may have figured out what it is. “Guts. We had a talk about that just now,” said SK coach Jackie Fagan after the Rebels’ 27-25, 25-19, 28-26 loss to North. “They have to find it. Most of the balls we missed were easy balls. When they hit hard, we’d get them but we missed easy balls or a serve. That had nothing to do with them – it was us. They have to try and find it. This team can beat anybody in the state.” Despite South Kingstown’s 4-7 record in Division I-South and current sixth-place standing, Fagan isn’t exaggerating.
