NARRAGANSETT—In a way reminiscent of Moses parting the red sea, Mt. Pleasant running back Quancy Quaye tore right through the middle of the Narragansett defense Saturday afternoon, slashing and dashing his way right to the waiting arms of Mariner defensive back Stephen Moio. Moio set his feet, braced for the hit and came up empty. Watching Quaye run right by him, the Mariner junior was powerless to do anything but scream a loud expletive, slam his foot down and watch the Kiltie back score yet another touchdown on yet another big play for the visitors. It was just that kind of day. In what Mariner coach Dick Fossa dubbed ‘the most embarrassing loss’ of his coaching career, Narragansett fell to 1-2 Saturday afternoon thanks to a 45-0 drubbing at the hands of Mt. Pleasant.
