Route 1 rollover leaves two injured |

PERRYVILLE - Two people were injured early Monday afternoon on Route 1 after flipping their car, according to Union Fire District Deputy Chief Kevin Quinn.
Police and Union Fire District firefighters responded to the scene just east of Moonstone Beach Road in the northbound lanes of Route 1.
Firefighters said when they arrived they noticed several empty beer and liquor containers littered about the overturned BMW. The two occupants were pinned inside and had to be extricated from the vehicle by firefighters before being transported to South County hospital.
Northbound traffic was slowed for over an hour as the rescue and cleanup efforts closed all but the northbound breakdown lane.
