The shenanigans have started. Last week we reported that some of Rod Driver’s signs were removed, prior to the primary. We even heard there was an elect Joseph Scott sign in Hopkinton– and he’s not even running this year (State Representative in District 39).
We also noticed some minor squabbling going on in the Richmond Town Clerk race between Helena Bowen and Tracey Nelson Hay – debating who has more experience in elections and such. Well, Hay is now the Democratic candidate, so that debate has been put to rest.
Now that the primary has come and gone, let the real games begin. (It’s election season after all). And let the letters flow in.
Speaking of letters, we expect a lot from candidates and about candidates in the coming months.
Please send only one letter a week – 500 words is ideal.
And remember, all letters are subject to rewriting and editing. We’ve had people come into the office screaming about an inserted comma – we are not kidding.
Sign your letters and list a daytime telephone number where we can call to get more information, if needed. The deadline for letters is noon Monday for publication in the next week’s issue.
For viewpoints, we give you a little more space. Please limit these to 750 words. Candidate profiles and photos will be run in the issues immediately preceding the general election free of charge. All candidates will be mailed a profile form this week. We wish you well with your campaign, or favored candidate as the case may be, and invite you to contact us in case you need more information.
