COVENTRY— A team of 50 military veterans will be cycling and water skiing in Coventry next week as part of a rehabilitation program through the New England Veterans Summer Sports Clinic. Partnered with Veteran Administration (VA) Centers and various non-profit organizations throughout New England, veterans are able to participate in adaptive sports meant to act as a type of physical therapy and to help them bond over positive activities.
The two-day event on July 22 and 23 will have a cycling activity at the Coventry Greenway Bike Path and a water skiing activity on Johnson’s Pond from 9am-3pm with a lunch break in-between at the Coventry Memorial VFW Post. The 50 veterans will be divided into smaller groups who will alternate between the simultaneous activities.
