Town physician honored by council

June 18, 2014

NARRAGANSETT – Many hot topics were on the agenda for the Narragansett Town Council on Monday evening. The council honored Dr. Laurence E. Bouchard, the town physician since 1963 who is now retiring, for his service and dedication to maintaining the health of police officers and residents alike.
“Doc wasn’t just a police surgeon. He was a doctor for our families,” said Narragansett Police Chief Dean Hoxsie. “It was more than just his role as a police surgeon, he was a friend, a great community service provider,” he continued.
Narragansett Fire Chief Scott Partington also expressed his sincere thanks for Dr. Bouchard’s service.
“He’s retiring and that’s a loss. It’s a loss to the community, but it also marks the end of an era, really. He will be undoubtedly missed,” Partington said.
