WASHINGTON â€“ In a 5-4 ruling Wednesday, the Supreme Court eliminated limits on how much money donors can give in total in one election season.
While the decision overturned the restriction that an individual donor could give up to $123,200 per election cycle in total to all candidates or committees, it left the current $5,200 limit on how much an individual can give to any single candidate during a two-year election cycle.
