South nine tops Chariho

April 19, 2011

South's Connor Morse was spectacular in six innings of work in the Rebels' 6-0 win over Chariho Tuesday afternoon.

SOUTH KINGSTOWN - Connor Morse threw six innings of four-hit, shutout baseball and his offense manufactured enough runs behind him as the South Kingstown baseball team beat Chariho 6-0 Tuesday afternoon.
While the score got a little lopsided late, it was a pitchers dual most of the afternoon as Morse and Chariho's John DeCataldo went through the order.
But while Morse did a good job of pitching to contact and keeping the pesky Chargers off the basepaths, DeCataldo struggled to find the strike zone late and gave up four runs before tiring in the sixth, where South tacked on two more.
