South Kingstown family targeted in home invasion

August 13, 2014

SOUTH KINGSTOWN – A South Kingstown family was held at gunpoint, bound and robbed on Sunday on Moorsefield Road in a targeted attempt by the two male perpetrators to acquire the marijuana that was growing legally in the house.
According to police, the suspects arrived on the scene through the backyard and approached the adult male victim and his two children at gunpoint. The adult male was struck in the back of the head and forced into the residence where he was bound with zip ties to prevent escape.
After gaining entry into the house, the suspects apprehended the adult female victim while she was asleep in a bedroom of the residence.
The woman was bound with duct tape and zip ties and subsequently assaulted by one of the suspects. The suspects also accosted the two minor children and placed them in a separate bedroom away from their parents while the residence was ransacked. The children were not physically harmed.
The suspects are described as two Hispanic men, both five feet and eight inches tall. One was clad in camouflage, black gloves and tan shoes with white soles. He was hiding his face with black panty hose and held a “blued” colored revolver with wooden grips.
