SKPD Officer Evan Johnson gets 3rd Class Commendation

Officer Evan Johnson of the South Kingstown Police Department, second from right, received a 3rd Class Commendation from the chief for his part in saving a man from a suicide attempt in Clock Tower Plaza.

SOUTH KINGSTOWN - Officer Evan Johnson of the South Kingstown Police Department received a 3rd Class Commendation from the chief for his part in saving a man from a suicide attempt in Clock Tower Plaza.

According to the commendation written by Chief Vincent Vespia, Johnson was on routine patrol of Kingstown Road when he observed a vehicle backed into a parking space in the empty lot. Upon approach of the vehicle, Johnson came across an intoxicated male driver who could not explain how he got there or what state he was in.
