NORTH KINGSTOWN – The North Kingstown fastpitch softball team remains undefeated, topping Chariho 6-1 at Ryan Park for their sixth win of the season. The bottom of the second inning proved to be the difference in the game as seven Skippers went to the plate and knocked in four runs breaking up what had been a 1-1 tie. The Chargers came into the game with a 5-3 record in Division I having won their last three games defeating Woonsocket, Warwick and Toll Gate, they competed well but the Skippers aggressive base-running and dual pitchers proved too much at home.
Rachel Kantor started as pitcher for NK, picking up three strikeouts in three innings and allowing Chariho’s solo run. Kiara Oliver followed in relief, striking out five Charger batters. The pitching combination has been a strong point for the Skippers all season.
