SK Town Council seeks stipend pay increase

SOUTH KINGSTOWN - After a review of the town manager’s proposed budget, the town council requested a few changes to the expense list - namely, an increase to their salaries and the salary of the probate judge, Merlyn P. O’Keefe.

“We talked before - in prior years - about an increase in town council salaries,” said Town Council President Ella Whaley. “I know that you [Town Manager Stephen Alfred] had talked about doing an analysis with other towns. How many years has the salary been the same for the town council?”
