SK resident develops natural deer tick repellent

South Kingstown Resident Patrick Barrow, founder of Natural Yard Guard, has developed a pest spray that he says is totally safe for pets, wildlife and humans.

SOUTH KINGSTOWN – The coming spring will surely bring much welcomed sunlight, warmth, and visitors to the area, but spring and summer also bring an invisible danger to Rhode Island every year.

Lyme disease and other tick-borne diseases are a serious threat to the area – mainly because people do not know how to deal with the ticks or prevent the disease.

South Kingstown Resident Patrick Barrow, founder of Natural Yard Guard, has developed a pest spray that he claims is totally safe for pets, wildlife and humans, saying, “you could drink it if you wanted to – it wouldn’t taste very good, though.”
