SOUTH KINGSTOWN â Two juveniles were arrested Monday for break-in and entering on two separate incidents.
At 1:32 p.m., police arrested a 14-year old male for breaking into a home on Kenyon Ave.
âSomeone called in the suspicious activity and we were able to locate the individual in the area,â Capt. Jeffrey Allen of the South Kingstown police said.
According to the police report, Sandra Waterman had been checking in on a neighbor's home who is out of state on vacation when she observed the a suspicious white male in the bushes of the home attempting to take a back pack.
Police had found the suspect running on Silver Lake Avenue toward Woodruff Avenue and took the juvenile back to his mother's residence in South Kingstown. Upon arrival at the residence, police heard the juvenile tell his mother he was trying to return the back pack to his friend and admitted that he had broken into houses in the past, but not that day.
At 6:10 p.m., the same day, police also arrested another juvenile male for attempted break-in and entering. Police had responded to a report of a burglar alarm going off in a residence on Birchwood Drive. According to the police report, police found fresh footsteps in the snow that went from the driveway to the southside of the house and back to the sliding glass door leading into the house. The sliding glass door was left about two inches open. This door is what signaled the alarm to go off according to the security alarm company that notified the police.
