Robinson speaks on importance of religion in LGBTQ movement

Bishop Gene Robinson spoke about the LGBTQ movement and culture at St. Augustine’s Church in Kingston Sunday. His talk was the keynote address kicking off the University of Rhode Island’s 20th annual LGBTQ Center Symposium.

KINGSTON – Gene Robinson, the nation’s first priest in an openly gay relationship to be consecrated a bishop, delivered the keynote address Sunday afternoon to kick off the University of Rhode Island’s LGBTQ Center Symposium.

Robinson, 66, was elected bishop of diocese of New Hampshire in the Episcopal Church in 2003, and retired from his post last year.
