RIDOH suspends license of EMT technician

PROVIDENCE—A North Kingstown EMT technician had his license suspended by the Rhode Island Department of Health last month after pleading no contest to two counts of felony assault a misdemeanor charge of simple assault. On June 17, Rhode Island Dept. of Health Director Michael Fine signed a summary order to suspend the license of Mark Alves, a technician since March 1995.
Alves, a resident of East Greenwich, is currently serving a 10-year suspended probation sentence for two counts of felony assault and one year of home confinement on a charge of simple assault, stemming from incidents in 2005 and 2006.
