PROVIDENCEâ€”A North Kingstown EMT technician had his license suspended by the Rhode Island Department of Health last month after pleading no contest to two counts of felony assault a misdemeanor charge of simple assault. On June 17, Rhode Island Dept. of Health Director Michael Fine signed a summary order to suspend the license of Mark Alves, a technician since March 1995.
Alves, a resident of East Greenwich, is currently serving a 10-year suspended probation sentence for two counts of felony assault and one year of home confinement on a charge of simple assault, stemming from incidents in 2005 and 2006.
