Rhode Island could generate between $21.5 million and $82 million in tax revenue each year by taxing legal adult sales of marijuana, according to a report released this week.
The new report by OpenDoors, âEstimated Effects of the Tax and Regulate Legislation in Rhode Island,â focuses on the tax benefits and criminal justice efforts of replacing the stateâs current prohibition model with a system in which marijuana is taxed and regulated.
