Rhode Island could generate between $21.5 million and $82 million in tax revenue each year by taxing legal adult sales of marijuana, according to a report released this week.
The new report by OpenDoors, â€śEstimated Effects of the Tax and Regulate Legislation in Rhode Island,â€ť focuses on the tax benefits and criminal justice efforts of replacing the stateâ€™s current prohibition model with a system in which marijuana is taxed and regulated.
