SOUTH KINGSTOWN - Five breaking and entering investigations in South Kingstown and three in Narragansett were solved on Friday with the arrest of Allan Jett, 57, of Cranston.
Jett is the defendant in eight breaking and entering cases, including New Dragon, Dunkin Donuts, Oâ€™Neilâ€™s Package Store, Halâ€™s Service Station, The Breakfast Nook II, Food for Thought, Go Pasta! and Estiaâ€™s Restaurant. He also confessed to 19 breaking and entering charges in Providence.
Jett was discovered as a suspect following investigation and video surveillance by the Providence police department, who arrested him on Friday.
The break-ins in South Kingstown resulted in the theft of $1,500 in cash and three cash registers. Jett also allegedly caused damage to a $500 plate glass window, a $250 window and a $2,500 front glass door.
The charges from South Kingstown include five felony charges of breaking and entering and two charges of malicious injury to property.
