Plans for new fire station in the works?

EAST GREENWCH — Imagine downtown East Greenwich without a fire station.

It's possible; and it may be for the better, East Greenwich Fire District Chief Peter Henrikson believes.

A combination of two factors should prompt the district to take a look at relocating Station 1 to a new site at the southwest corner of Post Road and Cedar Avenue. Henrikson told the Board of Fire Commissioners last Thursday.
