NARRAGANSETT – The Narragansett School Committee voted unanimously Wednesday to approve the bid award for the wireless classroom initiative to Whalley Computer Associates.
According to Roland Lambert, director of technology, the wireless initiative will allow for the installation of 70 new wireless access points in Narragansett schools.
Lambert also said that the new wireless system will operate at a 10 GB speed, which will be 10 times faster than what is currently in the three schools.
Superintendent Katherine Sipala said the money for the project comes from a grant approved by the General Assembly in the 2012 legislative session.
