Non-verbal boy's stolen tablet returned to Coventry police

COVENTRY— A special needs 15-year-old boy had his iPad stolen from the Walmart at the Centre of New England on July 23 and Detective Steve Gabriele, who is leading the investigation, has gotten the tablet in his possession as of yesterday. The suspects are a middle-aged couple who were caught on a surveillance video walking out of the store with the device underneath her purse. They have yet to be identified.

The special needs boy was described to Gabriele as a non-verbal child who used the iPad as his primary means of communication.
