NK native returns to Boston Marathon

North Kingstown native Erica Denhoff was stopped at Coolidge Corner (Mile 24) due to the terrorist attacks at the Boston Marathon last year, but returned on Monday to finish the race.

NORTH KINGSTOWN—North Kingstown native Erica Denhoff, a former track and field star, did not finish last year’s 117th Boston Marathon because of the terrorist bombing which ultimately claimed the lives of four victims. At the 118th Boston Marathon, Denhoff experienced an outpouring of encouragement and togetherness from thousands of bystanders and fellow races as she crossed the finish line, unlike anything of which she has been a part before.
